Best with: Experienced owners. They need to be socialized with constant firm rules. Obedience classes are very good for this breed.

Not for: Those who don't appreciate self-thinkers, small children, or people who are not home a lot. These are strictly indoor dogs.

Pros: Affectionate, fun, easy to train, love to just be with someone

Cons: Bark and protect property

General info: Lhasa Apsos were bred and raised to protect the inside of the Monasteries. They are wary of strangers and take a long time to warm up to new people. They do bark a lot but are very intelligent and aware of everything that is not just right. They take a lot of care and maintenance. They live a long time so don't get this type of dog unless you know you will be able to care for a dog for 10-15 more years.
