Color: Steel Blue with Golden Tan markings on head and legs

Energy Level: High for the first 8 or so years

Life expectancy: 14-16 years, Hearty

Children: Not for infants, toddlers or young children, ok with older (8 years+) dog savvy children

Other animals: Usually ignores other dogs, may choose to play with others prefers to chase cats for sport

Abilities: Wide range, agility, fly ball, obedience anything stimulating

Shedding/Grooming: Minimal upkeep with a puppy cut, endless grooming with show length

Health: Most common health concerns are liver shunts, legg perthes disease & congestive heart failure.

Best with: Experienced owners, at least of a terrier breed of some sort

Not for: Push-overs, small children or inactive apartment/condo dwellers

Pros: Intelligent, eagerness to please, bold confidence

Cons: Strong-willed & very spirited usually dislikes those in uniform and can be destructive

General info: A whole lotta dog in a small package so prepare and read up on this breed before considering it for your (their) LIFE. Yorkies are wonderful loving dogs that can add up to lots of trouble if they are not handled correctly.
