Volunteer to be a foster home for dogs who are waiting to be adopted. The number of dogs SPDR can rescue is limited by the number of qualified foster homes we have available. Fill out an
online foster application to get your interest and information submitted and processed immediately (this approach saves SPDR time and money), OR you can download, print and mail your application to SPDR at the address on the form (requires a printer and Adobe Acrobat Reader software). If neither of these options works for you, call (206) 654-1117 and request a foster home application.

Become a Breed Rep or a Co-Rep
SPDR's rescue model is based on having Breed Representatives and Co-Reps willing to "spearhead" the rescue of a particular breed. Requirements include: Knowledge and experience with the breed, ability to interface with the public, excellent communication and organization skills, and a willingness to respect and uphold SPDR's policies and mission statement. Which breeds currently need a Breed Rep? Click here -- any breed with a by its name is currently unrepresented. To learn more or to request an application, call (206) 654-1117. Leave your name address, phone, and the breed(s) you're interested in serving.

SPDR is a nonprofit (501-c-3) organization. None of its officers, board members, or breed reps receives any payment for serving in that capacity. All of the money received from subscriptions and donations goes toward the costs of operating SPDR and the rescue expenses of purebred dogs. We do not solicit contributions from outside of Washington State and suggest that if you are not a resident of Washington state, you support an organization in your home state.
