Become an SPDR Foster Home

Help

Foster Homes are an important link in SPDR’s rescue and adoption process — enabling us to retrieve more dogs from shelters, help these dogs with training and health needs, and give them extra time to match up with just the right family.

What does Fostering Involve?

SPDR’S goal is to provide a loving, structured, responsible, safe, and educational environment for the dog during this critical transition phase, while adhering to the policies of SPDR, which are outlined in our Foster Home Application.

On average, dogs remain in a foster home for roughly two to six weeks. The exact timing depends on the dog and on the number of qualified families that apply to adopt from SPDR.

SPDR Foster Homes help give dogs their best chance at a new life.
